“When it’s really rubbered-in, if you go half a car too wide there’s just no grip at all.” “The last thing you want is understeer because that’s usually what kills you when you’re running in traffic and so on and you over-slip the tyre, you’re a passenger into the wall,” says Rosenqvist. Moving higher up will be possible momentarily – hopefully allowing a spectacular overtake or two – but not something that can be done lap after lap. This is where the grip is, and moving higher up the track usually means understeer and, potentially, a very big accident indeed.įor this weekend – unlike the recent Ind圜ar iRacing Challenge event – tyre wear will be off for drivers, but in rFactor that low-line will still be where the grip is. If a sim is doing its job, it should replicate the Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s low line, where rubber accumulates along the bottom of all four corners. Moves like that don’t have much consequence in simracing, but you have to believe a field with so many champions will afford each other a bit of extra room – and respect – to stay in the race rather than just trying stupid moves to risk it all. Respecting fellow racers is important, and that’s always difficult to expect in practice for one-off sim events like the Legends Trophy where drivers aren’t racing each other in real life, risking the lives of their fellow competitors with dangerous moves. “That’s what I see most people who haven’t done the ovals before doing.” It’s like 10x more chance if you go three-wide. “There’s so much communication that needs to be done through the spotters and all the drivers have to make sure they leave room for each other. Normally when you go three-wide that’s bad news! “For example if there’s two cars going into Turn 1, and you add a third car to line up three-wide, that’s your responsibility. “It’s very easy to just put your nose down the inside – which you would do in the same scenario on a normal track – if you start putting your nose in everywhere at every opportunity you get, you might be responsible for causing a lot of incidents. “I think at Indy – whether you’re on the sim or not – you try to respect it a bit more,” says Rosenqvist. The most important way for The Race Legends Trophy to avoid a similar issue will be to race Indianapolis differently to any other track in racing… With drivers intentionally wrecking each other at various points, it made a mockery of the event which had all the ingredients to be an Indy classic, even if it was held on a sim and not on the real bricks. Who better than Mario Andretti’s Pennsylvania Ind圜ar neighbour to give us advice on this weekend’s race? Don’t stick your nose in!įor those of you who watched the Ind圜ar iRacing Challenge race at Indianapolis, you’ll know that it ended in complete mayhem. Just a couple of laps to see what it’s like and help out my neighbour, Mario!” “He got a sim a week or two ago, he asked me to come over and check to see if it’s all good with it,” Karam tells The Race. Mario Andretti had Karam set up his sim ready for this weekend. He’s become ‘Sage Karam – simracing guru’ in this period as reputable drivers have approached him for equipment advice and, incredibly, even driver coaching. Our second racer turned agony aunt is Ind圜ar driver Sage Karam, a beta tester for the original iRacing game and member of the reputable Coanda Simsport team. Ind圜ar’s reigning rookie of the year Felix Rosenqvist – a simracing regular who made his debut at Indy in real-life last year and contested the iRacing Challenge event – gives us some vital Ind圜ar tips as a veteran of both rFactor and iRacing, but a relative newcomer to Ind圜ar. You can take a ride in Mountain Peaks for yourself by downloading from rFactor 2 tracks page.A huge group of motorsport greats will make their oval racing debut this weekend in The Race Legends Trophy’s Indianapolis Motor Speedway event.īut how is oval racing on a sim different to real life, and to what they’ve been used to in the Legends Trophy’s road course rounds? What can they learn from Ind圜ar’s recent controversial iRacing Challenge, and how is the rFactor 2 platform used by The Race Legends Trophy different to iRacing? Located within a mountain range in North Carolina, Mountain Peak Speedway's 1.5-mile oval contains a number of layouts set up for oval racing and karts: RFactor 2 has received a new track available to download in the form of Mountain Peak Speedway – a track that has been in the pipeline since rFactor 2's inception, first seen in some of its initial preview screenshots.ĭue to its age, the developers stress not to expect the level of quality seen in more recently developed tracks, but they've still managed to spruce up the original textures.

✅ 2 More Things You Should Know About the Weird and Wonderful Tardigrade At Popular Mechanics, we love the water bear so much that we thought we’d share two more mini bonus facts about these resilient (and cute!) invertebrates. Here are our seven favorite facts about tardigrades, according to the latest research. We talked to leading researchers to learn a bit more about what makes these little water bears so amazing. In other words, they “use a molecular sensor that detects harmful conditions in their environment, telling them when to go dormant and when to resume normal life,” per a press statement. As a result of the reactions, the cysteine alters proteins in the water bear, triggering the tun state. According to a study published on Januin the peer-reviewed journal PLOS One, when exposed to conditions that would trigger a dormant state, tardigrades’ cells emitted oxygen free radicals that, in turn, oxidized cysteine amino acids. Still, they didn’t understand how the eight-legged microscopic invertebrates could initiate that tun state in the first place.īut now, scientists have uncovered the way in which tardigrades use this badass survival skill. Scientists already knew that tardigrades could survive extreme environments by entering what’s called a “tun” state for extended periods of time. Now, we may finally understand the mechanism tiny water bears use to live in such harsh conditions, from deep-sea vents at the bottom of the ocean to the top of the Himalayas. Tardigrades are one of the most fascinating creatures on Earth- and in space. For aluminum, it should at least be 4 AWG. The Correct Wire Sizes for a 50A Sub PanelĪccording to the size chart recommendations from the 2002 edition of the NEC, the minimum wire for 50 amps should be 6 AWG for copper. What Wire Do I Use for a 50 Amp Sub Panel?.What Size Wire Do I Need for 50 Amp at 110-240v?.Calculating With Voltage Drop Considered. The Correct Wire Sizes for a 50A Sub Panel.Installing a 100 amp sub panel generally requires the use of one of the following options. What Size Wire Is Needed For A 100 Amp Sub Panel? However, it’s important that you don’t use more than 160 amps at once. But the wiring diagram shouldn’t exceed the circuitry’s 200-amp limit.įor example, you might only connect two 100 amp or one 200 amp sub panel from 200 amp main. You can typically run two or more 100-amp sub panels from a 200-amp main service panel. Helpful Tips/FAQsĬan I Run Two 100 Amp Sub Panel Off 200 Amp Main? Turn on the main circuit breaker and activate the 100-amp panel to test the wiring. With the connections secure, install the circuit breakers you need for the sub panel. Make sure to use the neutral lug kit to secure this attachment. The next step is to connect and secure the other ends of the feeder wires to the sub panel, particularly its neutral bus bar. Then, install that circuit breaker to the main panel. Connect the two feeder wires to the 100-amp breaker. Next, wiring a subpanel with 3 wires typically needs you to feed the feeder wire through the PVC conduit. Secure the other end of the ground wire to the sub panel’s ground bar. To run a 100 amp sub panel off a 200 amp main panel, feed the ground wire through the PVC conduit and secure it to the main panel’s ground bar. Once finished, place a sticker indicating the specifics of the ground bars for future reference. The next part of the 100 amp sub panel installation is to attach the ground bars. The PVC will become the conduit that’ll hold some of the 100 amp sub panel wiring. Remember to scrape the edges of the pipes beforehand to smoothen them. Cut the next PVC section and glue them to the previous ones with cement. Next, install two small PVC fittings into the knockout covers of both the main and sub panels. Another option is to jam a pair of pliers into the covers to remove them. Do the same for the knockout covers on the sub panel. Remove the knockout covers from the side of the main panel by pounding them with a hammer and a flathead screwdriver. Don’t forget to verify that the circuit is off with a multimeter. This step often only demands you turning off the main breaker from the main service panel. That way, you can prevent risks of accidents and injuries, particularly from electrocutions. Step #2: Turn Off The Main Breakerĭeactivate the power from the main service panel any time that you’re working with breaker boxes. Ensure that the sub panel has at least 3 feet of space from other items to promote accessibility and safety. Remember, adding a 100 amp subpanel means ensuring that it has adequate clearance from the main panel and other objects in the area. Then, place the panel to your preferred location on the wall or on a durable structure. Place and secure the plywood sheet to the back of the sub panel’s enclosure. Next, cut a 4×4-foot plywood sheet, which will become the panel’s anchor. Safety gear (gloves, glasses, insulated shoes)įirst, ensure that your mounting location and position follows the standards imposed by your local electrical code. Then again, I waited too long to pick up the Rustic Edition to go on sale and now it’s sold out. Still $20, I’m not eager to pick this up just for a set of cards. White token/pawn that matches the new game figurines, and we’re all set. That should make for an interesting Clue game format. So that leaves 7 suspects, 9 rooms, and 8 weapons. And Azure should hold plenty of nostalgic sway for a younger demographic too. I get Brunette holds greater nostalgic interest for some older fans of the game, but seriously, better to be progressive these days. That would have satisfied the demographic representation of diversity Clue badly needs. Why not Prince Azure? An original black character, who also has an international pedigree. Oh yes, I’m sure there are many arguments for Brunettes mixed heritage, especially as depicted here, but honestly he was created as a white guy, and always has been. They go to the trouble to add an original ethic character in the name of Orchid, but for this game they not only add back the old white lady, but also another white character. Once again I feel Hasbro has been tone deaf here. Better yet, just have everyone agree that Brunette is the Conservatory for the purposes of the game. In this case, the spare card for me is Mssr. simple to scan and print onto a sticker the conservatory artwork, and stick on top of a spare card from this set. TL/DR: a respectable option for a travel/quick play version of Clue, with the added bonus of new suspect & weapon art. The rules also kept text from Guess Who referring to matching the color of the small cards (red border or blue border) to the color of the boards. The, now useless, winning streak peg holders could have been swapped for a Clue logo. I have qualms with the molds used for the boards: they’re blatantly the usual Guess Who board, but molded in brown plastic. The cards are just as thin as the new standard, but they look much better/more atmospheric. These retained the book cover texture layer from the standard game’s rules booklet, even wrapping it around as the border on the facing side. It’s actually fun! Some players will struggle to think up clever questions since you have only the smaller artwork on your notebook cards to study for details, but there’s a decent balance between elimination by observation & elimination by luck of the draw. I played a quick trial game with a friend this evening. Wrong? Your opponent must immediately make their own guess, and steal the victory if they’re correct on all 3. Game is as detailed above, then you can make an accusation at the beginning of your next turn if you think you’ve narrowed your board down to the 3 solution cards. The remaining Evidence cards are shuffled with the actions to create the draw pile mentioned in the rules. Then each player randomly selects one of the remaining suspect cards to keep facing them in the slot (so from the beginning, you can eliminate one suspect - yourself - from your notebook board). Setup is much like standard Clue: separate the suspects, weapons, rooms, and randomly select 3 cards for the solution. Or, just play a game without the Conservatory?) 16 Special Action cards round out the deck. The Conservatory didn’t make the cut, so the deck can’t quite serve as an alternative for a DIY expanded game (but a simple scan of the face sides of all of these cards, plus a little skilled image editing, could easily get the job done. The game features 8 each of suspects/weapons/rooms. Too tired most days to stay on top of every new development in the fandom, and generally discouraged when I pop on & see the spam bots are still raging on.Īnd the artwork you’re all most eager to see. Not dead, just haven’t signed on in a good while. TL/DR: I’m more hopeful now that Hasbro might actually deliver a new expanded spin off game in the next year, now we can see they’ve got the extra artwork to work with.Īlso, hi everyone. This alone makes me more inclined to add this silly spin off to my library. White in her new aesthetic, and a very familiar face to any of us who play Marmalade’s digital edition, Monsieur Brunette. Of interest to us: Guess Who Clue.īut look closely at the promo image & you’ll spot three surprises: a poison weapon card, a return of Mrs. This time it’s mashups of their popular brands into some charming party games. Didn’t see a post about this yet, so: Hasbro has launched another Target exclusive series of games. Its low-risk nature allows players to enjoy the game without fear of irreversible failure, making it accessible and enjoyable for individuals of all skill levels. When there are no more moves left, you deal three cards from the deck to a waste pile. When a column on the table is cleared, you can fill it with a King or a set of cards with a King on top. You can also move cards between columns on the table, following a specific order of colors. These stacks go from Ace to King in the same suit. The initial costs could go up if acquiring suitable land is needed. Setting up a renewable power system as well as an alternative water supply infrastructure involve a significant amount of money. Just like any other type of transition, the upfront cost of getting into off-grid living can be financially challenging in the sense that an individual would be starting a new life in a new home. I love the old Remingtons humpbacks, regardless whether they are pre-model 11s or are Model 11s. Why not post a few pictures of your gun showing all these features? I'd sure like to see it. In fact, the real early Remington autoloaders that I've seen have often been confused with early Browning A-5's because they did not say Remington on the barrel. Serial Numbers by date (factory record book) 19A3 Production and Serial No table. The barrels of all the real early ones that I've seen have been plain to the point that nobody has been able to tell if they were actually original to the gun, or were added to the gun later, because none identified Remington as the manufacturer. In 1913 it was given the Model 12 identification. The Remington 742 Woodsmaster was produced from 1960 to 1980, so its age could range from a minimum of 41 years to a maximum of 61 years. The model 12s have a small button on the bottom of the action slide metal behind the wood forearm. Initial disassemble, Location and installation of the cartridge retainer. The later larger head number 18591 was used. (Remington Society) Originally the Model 12 was called 'The New 22 Repeater'. The old part number of 327 was for the scalloped screw (which used the same lock screw 112 as the model 12. Every Remington was numbered back to the 1st Model Remington-Beals revolver in 1857. They never skipped a year with serial numbers. It didn't become the Model 11 until 1911.) All of the very early guns like this that I've seen do not have the flying duck and flying pheasant rollmarks on the receiver like the later Model 11's have, and they do not have Model 11 rollmarked onto the breechbolt like the later Model 11's do. The serial numbers started at 0 in 1909 and ended with 40818, 1910 started at 48936.
